- Dreams at the End of the Rope directed by Leonard Joseph (New York, NY).
Have you ever gone to a museum, or looked at an old photo and wondered, what the people in the photo were thinking? What if, the past crashed into your present? What would you do? Who would you become? In 'Dreams at the End of the Rope,' we explore these questions through the lives of William Horn, an elderly white man, and James Clark, an African American high school senior. Their lives intersect at an exhibit on Lynching in America. These two very different people expose their beliefs and dreams, only to find the differences are not what separates them, but their ignorance is the source that divides. Shot in Atlanta, GA. (Rated PG)

- Say Grace Before Drowning directed by Nikyatu Jusu (Brooklyn, NY).
West African countries plagued by civil unrest often wage war on women in the form of rape. GRACE is one such victim, birthing a daughter, HAWA, as a consequence of this rape. Having been separated from her child for 6 years, Grace finally joins young Hawa in the U.S., ushering in a new life with her estranged daughter’s surrogate family. Seen through the eyes of 8 year old Hawa, Grace’s already unraveling mental state surfaces in violent and self destructive behavior as she struggles to adapt to American life. (Rated R)

- Nina Fox presents Closer to Crazy directed by Nina Foxx (Del Mar, CA)
Ayzah Brown tries to break away from the hustling life that continually haunts her. (Rated R)

- Taught to Hate directed by James Garcia Sotomayor (New York).
The story of an Hispanic immigrant trying to find a job in America, and an American family in which the uncle's racial intolerance has a profound effect on his nephew. (Rated R)

Urban Mediamakers Association

The mission of the Urban Mediamakers  Association is to promote and support a strong diverse independent media arts community in metro-Atlanta emphasizing the work of African, Asian and Latin descent creatives. Our goal is to be a main player in the continuous movement to attain diversity in media by providing individuals with assistance with development, production, post-production, financing and distribution of independent media -- animation, film, music, print, television and video.

A 501(c)(3), tax exempt, not-for-profit, charitable organization, the Urban Mediamakers Association brings talented and aspiring creative individuals together. Guided by past wisdom and reflecting the new generation of mediamaking, we are dedicated to thinking out of the traditional box. We depend on powers beyond ourselves to provide opportunities and open doors in all facets of our lives.

Through our Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs) program, we are partnering media professionals with youth ages 12-19 to encourage, inspire and educate them in all areas of media.
